Thankfulness Day 18
Today, I'm thankful for the incredibly beautiful place where I live. People travel hundreds of miles to have a vacation at our beach, and I get to live here!
This is truly what the light looked like one evening. The air seemed to glow, it was incredible.
Emily and Mallory describing my feelings toward the beach. :)
And this is what it can look like in the summer: turquoise and clear.
It's like the Caribbean, but a whole lot closer.

Thankfulness Day 17
Today, I'm thankful that God has allowed me to travel all over the world, I've been to 4 continents and 14 countries. hardly anyone has done that, yet God has blessed me in that way.
Canada
We visit the lake country part of Canada and rent a cottage on a lake
Switzerland
One of the most beautiful places on earth
Austria
I hardly spent anytime here, but I would love to go back.
Germany
The part I saw was green, rolling hills with adorable farm houses
Hungary
This is a country still recovering from the war, it is visible in all the dirty buildings that just need some cleaning up to be beautiful again
Kenya
We spent 1 month here and had lots of adventures!
England
This was one of my favorite places to visit since I've seen so many famous pictures of it and read numerous books that are set in London
Mongolia
Visiting missionary friends
Vatican City
Yes it is a country, the people who live there have passports
Italy
Probably my all time favorite country, the history is absolutely breath taking!
South Korea
China
And I've also been to Mexico, but I don't have any pictures of it on the computer I'm writing this post on.
I am also planning on visiting 4 new countries next year. I am incredibly blessed!

Thankfulness Day 16
To me, a math person, this video is absolutely fascinating. There are so many things in nature and in art that we take for granted that they just look good. But so many of these actually have a math formula built into them. How interesting is that!?
a/b = (a+b)/a
Here are two examples of the golden ratio in architecture:
I'm so thankful for a God who hides math in everything. :)

Thankfulness Day 13
Today, I'm thankful for vitamins. Last year I was sick at some point in November, December, January, February, March, and April. My colds lasted 1-2 weeks and during the summer I could easily take an hour nap every day. I finally got sick (no pun intended) of this and started taking a multivitamin and garlic/oregano pills.
I'm happy to say that I now have a good deal more energy and haven't gotten sick since I've started taking them!

Thankfulness Day 9
I don't have a picture of tonight but I am thankful for the wonderful time I had with friends tonight. We had a game night and I had a lovely time playing a wild game of Dutch Blitz, one of my favorites games. It's fast, crazy and involves lots of laughter! It's even more fun with good friends.
This is a picture from the same game but taken at a different time.

Thankfulness Day 8
Today, I am thankful for potential new life. Only God can create new life, and it's absolutely amazing and breathtaking if you think about God creating life out of an egg, similar to the ones I eat for breakfast.
These are the eggs that Mom's zebra finches have laid. They should be hatching any day now!

Thankfulness Day 6&7
I didn't get a chance to do a post yesterday so here is day 6&7 of thankfulness.
Thanks to Common Scents Mom I won a giveaway! I received a Thieves scented sanitizer and hand sanitizer. For those who don't know, they are made of all essential oils and don't contain any synthetic materials. They also smell better than any unnatural scent you'll ever find!
If you have known me for a while you will know that I can't stand talking on the phone, I will do everything possible before I have to call someone. But there are exceptions. For example, when my dear friend who moved away calls to talk, I'm very, very happy to talk so I can hear her sweet voice, laugh with her, and hear how excited she is about the little baby growing inside of her. :)

Thankfulness Day 5
Today I'm thankful for my hammered dulcimer.
Last weekend while I was in the mountains at the conference, I stopped in a dulcimer store. I had already researched hammered dulcimers and I chose the one I wanted that day. I've only had it for a week but Emily, Charlotte and I can all play it now. We are having a lovely time learning different songs on it.
I've named it Irene
Here is a beautiful piece played on the hammered dulcimer.

Thankfulness Day 4
Today I'm thankful for colorful trees. Even though the leaves are dying, they are dying in vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. God didn't have to make them colorful, yet He did.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Ecclesiastes 3:11
And here is a sneekpeak for tomorrow. I'm really excited about showing ya'll Irene. :)
Thankfulness Day 3
Today, I'm thankful for being able to attend the Gospel-Centered Marriages conference last weekend in Asheville, NC. My family was unable to attend because of Carter's Ironman race, but thankfully some friends generously offered to take me with them.
Kevin Swanson
Friday was cold, rainy, and foggy. Just lovely.
Paul Washer
But Sunday was bright and sunny.
The cute little cabin where we stayed.
We had 1/2 an hour to kill on Saturday night, so my friend and I drove up to Montreat to look around.
Yes, it's a bad expression, and the camera shadow is on our faces, but I still like it.
Our last night there we went out to dinner with the lovely M. family. We talked non-stop for ages and still could have kept going for hours!
The conference was incredibly inspiring and challenging.
I don't have time just now to write what I learned, but I will do so before long. :)
