graduation

Yesterday my family celebrated Emily's high school graduation. Emily is a bookworm and thus we had a 'book themed' party.

The quotes throughout this post are some of Emily's favorites.

"Education never ends, Watson. It is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last."
Author Conan Doyle, His Last Bow

"Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive— it’s such an interesting world. It wouldn’t be half so interesting if we knew all about everything would it? There’d be no scope for imagination then, would there?"
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Pennants made out of book pages

“Laughter is sunshine, it chases winter from the human face.”
― Victor HugoLes Misérables

“Sometimes he used a spade in his garden, and sometimes he read and wrote. He had but one name for these two kinds of labor; he called them gardening. ‘The Spirit is a garden,’ said he.”
Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

I am very blessed to be able to take this picture. Both sets of my grandparents are still alive, have been both married over 50 years, and they are all believers, and that is increasingly rare nowadays.

"It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to."
J.R.R. Tolkein, The Lord of the Rings
