Florida

In June everyone but Dad drove to Florida to visit my mom's parents who had just moved down there.

The first morning we cooled off by going swimming, even though the water was 90 degrees.

There were lots of manatees in this area, but this is all that we could see of them.

Carter and Charlotte inspecting the water.

That afternoon we went to the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Museum. This is the tree outside of it, I thinks it's really cool looking, the roots come out of the branches. It was huge.

Some of the phonographs Edison had, I like the one on the left the best.

He also worked many years on finding a plant in the US that would produce rubber. This is the one which worked best, I can't remember what it is called though.

The next day we headed to the beach, it was so hot that we had to be in the water or in the shade. Here are some of the things we found in the water.

Here is our group picture but without mom, I don't like the picture because we had to use the camera flash and it was dark and windy.

On the way home we stopped at Jeckyll Island for about 1/2 hour. Some friends had told us about it and I'm glad we went, it's a beautiful old hotel in the middle of marshes just off the coast of Georgia.
