Going to the chapel, gonna get married...
I could not contain my excitement. I wasn't nervous all day, I got a little bit nervous starting 30 minutes before the ceremony but mostly excitement. I was sitting in a chair bouncing up and down.
I, Anna Claire Hampden Barton |
take you, Luke Frederick Dinkledine, |
to be my lawfully wedded husband, |
and covenant |
before God and these witnesses |
to be your loving and faithful wife |
to have and to hold |
to love, cherish and care for you |
supporting and comforting you |
From this day forward |
I covenant |
to be truthful in all matters |
while being gracious to forgive shortcomings and offenses. |
I covenant |
to joyfully submit to your leadership |
caring for your wellbeing more than my own. |
So that the Word of God may not be reviled. |
I covenant |
to give thanks to God for you, |
to pray for you regularly, |
and to follow you in the means of Grace |
For the glory of Jesus Christ alone. |
I promise to do these things |
despite my condition of sin and misery |
through times of sickness and health |
poverty and riches |
humiliations and exaltations |
famines and bounty |
temptations and sanctification |
acknowledging my total dependence |
on Christ as My head |
to enable me to joyfully and fully perform these vows |
until death do us part. |

Snatching a few minutes alone before we greeted everyone
The only regret I have from my wedding, and it was one I couldn't help, was that I couldn't spend time with everyone. So many people drove from far away to celebrate with us. Countless people sent gifts and cards of encouragement. Friends offered their time to help with the planning and setting up. It was overwhelming the support of our friends and family. Yet due to time constraints I could only spend just a minute or two with everyone. I wanted to give everyone a huge hug and sit down to have a long conversation to catch up and thank them. Alas, that was not possible so just know how incredibly thankful Luke and I are, more than words can express.
