I've never particularly like wearing shoes, as I grew up people teased me that I'd get married barefoot. Well I did!
I was thrilled with how the reception room turned out. Especially since because of the threat of rain the day before we changed rooms. I'm glad we did. The fun thing is the decorations hardly cost us anything, the Yacht Club provided the table and chairs, the vases, table cloths, and runners were all borrowed from a friend, the greenery came from either our and a friend's yard, and the flowers were the bridesmaids' bouquets. The bunting hanging from the ceiling was my favorite decoration, it is both nautical and wedding. we bought the fabric and then sewed them ourselves. It took more time than I thought it would but it was worth it. Lambeth probably sewed over half of it, there was 400 yards all together.
Everyone told me that I wouldn't get to eat the food, sadly they were right, I did get some but there just wasn't time to eat much of the delicious food. I shall have to content myself with the pictures.
The absolutely perfect place for a reception.
Note for others considering throwing rice: wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I love how old fashioned it is. And had everyone been nice and just gently tossed it would have been fine. But no, especially the boys have to throw it, rice kinda hurts when you throw it. But it was still worth it.
Going with the southern nautical theme we left by antique boat. It was the perfect ending to our perfect wedding.
I've always worried that when my wedding had come and gone, I would have liked to change something when I saw a new idea. I'm happy to say that is not the case, my wedding was perfect, I would not have changed a single thing. And I think that in 20 years my wedding will still be perfect in my eyes.
