6 Year History Made!!!!!

For the first time in six years, it snowed!...no more than an inch but that's more than we've had for quite some time. It snowed all day Monday and then stayed around for Tuesday and even into Wednesday.
Emily and Charlotte made the best snowman they could out of the little snow.
I enjoyed a new backdrop and features for taking pictures
Our house in the snow
The girls as happy as can be.

I believe this is the morning after.

You northerners call us what you want, we don't care. :)

P.S. The day before I posted this it snowed again! It only snowed for 45 minutes but it sure was a surprise.

Christmas Dinner

For Christmas dinner we went over to the home of  friends along with some other friends.
We made the lamb for the dinner, it was delicious, it had an olive rosemary rub on it.
A beautifully decorated table.
Thanks for visiting and hope ya'll had a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning

This year we didn't have any family come into town and we didn't leave town so we enjoyed Christmas morning at home.
Dad with his "annual" issue of Leadership magazine.
It was about 70 degrees Christmas morning, but because it was Christmas and we really wanted a fire, we turned on the AC, opened the doors and put a fire log on!
Emily and Charlotte opening their Christmas presents...dresses I made for them.

The girls in their Christmas dresses (and kittie too :))
Watch out! Momma got a new set of knives!!
Daddy with my new cast iron skillet on his head.
Charlotte got a DVD called "Mr. Ed", personally I was a bit iffy on it because of the name. But after 10 seconds of watching it I loved it! It's hysterical.

Old Salem

The week before Christmas the girls of the family took a day trip to Old Salem, a historic town near Winston-Salem, with some friends.
The first thing we did was go to an organ concert. This organ was built in the 1800s and then stored for 85 years and was recently restored.
I believe this is the Vogler's house.  Beautiful and distinctive architectural details adorn many of the buildings in the restored village.
Here's our little group.

I'm not quite sure which building this is but a lot of the buildings have moravian stars like this one.
Along the street
Since it was Christmastime, we had the added pleasure of seeing the buildings with period decorations.

Birthday Boy

Two weeks ago Carter turned 15, and to celebrate we went to the Oceanic Restaurant on Wrightsville Beach. And this week he went to the DMV and got his driving permit!

The light outside was absolutely golden so I went out with the girls to take some pictures around a nearby old pier.
