Written: Monday night Paris time
We arrived here in Paris at 7:30am this morning. We took the 45 minute car ride into the city and arrived at our hotel. It was too early to check in so we left our luggage and walked across the street to Notre Dame. Since I have been in numerous cathedrals before I did not think Notre Dame would be that impressive. Boy was I wrong! Because we went first thing in the morning the sun was shining through the stained glass windows. Simply stunning. Next we climbed the 400 stairs to the top of the bell tower. The view was well worth the climb. And I’ll describe the rest with the pictures…

Writing a blog post in the airport
Destination: Paris, France
Our first view of Notre Dame and also the view from our hotel
It was very dark inside so my pictures are dark as well
The Rose Window
I just couldn't stop taking pictures of the stained glass!
The door to Notre Dame
Our next challenge, climb 400 steps to the top!
Thankfully, I think the view was worth while, it was our first view of the Eiffel Tower ever.
Either the background was blown out and we were lit up...
...or you can see the background but not us. Take your pick.
Gargoyles
Yours truly
Maybe we should get some for our house...
Ever gargoyle is different
This is one of the world's largest bells, the thing in the middle that hits the bell (whatever that is called) ways 1 ton by itself.
